Contract advice

Publishing Contracts:

If you are unagented, have been offered a contract from a publishing company and wish to seek some advice on this contract, agents are now able to give this advice in exchange for a fee (in accordance with clause 5 in the ALAA Code of practice).

You may contact any of our member agents regarding this service. A fee shall be quoted and, once accepted in writing (NB: an email constitutes ‘in writing’ for this purpose), the agent will be able to read your contract and provide you with advice.

Please note that agents are not able to negotiate this contract on your behalf – they are only able to provide advice. If you have any questions about this service, please email us.

Literary Agency Agreement:

The Australian Society of Authors provides a template contract for a literary agency agreement – this can be purchased here.
